It just got even better to have a Netflix account for Trekkies around the world.

Netflix will be the exclusive home for streaming for CBS's upcoming Star Trek series.

The streaming service announced the licensing deal with CBS Studios on Monday, July 18, which allows it to be the only place to stream all episodes of the new TV show worldwide in 188 countries, excluding the United States and Canada.

Each episode of the Star Trek series will be available within 24 hours of its premiere, which will air on CBS All Access, the network's streaming service. Customers can stream current and past series and CBS live for $5.99 per month.

Although the new Star Trek series, which is slated for January 2017, will be released on the network's on-demand digital subscription service CBS All Access, the first episode will also air on CBS.

Adding Netflix as a distribution partner will allow more eyes to be on the series, but might raise questions about the network's faith in its own on-demand streaming platform.

However, this seems like a smart move since CBS All Access is only available for U.S. consumers. By excluding U.S. audiences with Netflix, Trekkies will have to get CBS's service. The rest of the world will be able to check out the show. It's a win, win.

"Star Trek is one of the most iconic shows in television history and we're thrilled to partner with CBS to bring the beloved series to Trekkies around the world," Sean Carey, Vice President of Global Television at Netflix, said in a press release. "The newest chapter of the story promises to continue the rich tradition of adventure and is sure to excite fans everywhere Netflix is available."

While the series premiere date seems like light-years away, production for CBS's new Star Trek series will begin in September in Toronto. Co-created by Alex Kurtzman (co-writer for Star Trek Into Darkness) and Hannibal's Bryan Fuller (writer for Star Trek: Voyager), the show will stay true to its roots and have the iconic feel to it, while introducing a new ship with new characters.

Kurtzman and Fuller will also be joined by Heather Kadin, Gretchen Berg, Aaron Harberts, Rod Roddenberry and Trevor Roth as executive producers for the series.

Along with being able to stream the new Star Trek show, Trekkies will also be able to stream previous episodes of the series from the franchise on Netflix. There will be a total of 727 episodes, including ones from Star Trek: The Original Series, Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Star Trek: Voyager and Star Trek: Enterprise, which will be available on the platform by the end of the year.

From the amount of Star Trek content that will be on the platform, Netflix seems to be the best streaming service for Trekkie fans.
