Puzzle-platformer adventure video game Inside will be released for Sony's PlayStation 4 in August.

Game developer and publisher Playdead released the creepy and awesome video game for Microsoft Xbox One in June and Windows PC in July this year. Inside has received great ratings and reviews in the gaming industry.

"The game's heady mix of eerie environments, subtle-yet-challenging puzzles, and oppressively creepy atmosphere have clearly struck a chord with both fans and press alike," said Xbox last month.

Sony has confirmed the arrival of the platformer on its latest gaming console via the official Twitter PlayStation handle, and a video trailer posted on YouTube by Playdead confirms Aug. 23 as the release date of Inside on PS4.

Playdead's announcement comes just one day after it was found that the game's trophy list was online for PS4. Inside for PS4 will have a similar easy-to-use two-button control system as found on Xbox One.

Inside is just the second game developed by Playdead. The first game from the developer was Limbo, another puzzle platformer that was initially released in July 2010 for Xbox 360 and then launched for other gaming platforms in 2011.

Just like Limbo, Playdead's second video game also has an ambiguous story with very little information. But gamers who liked Limbo may also like Inside.

According to the Xbox website, Inside was also the highest-rated Xbox One game on review aggregate site Metacritic.

While Inside has been announced for PS, many gamers hope Sony will confirm the game for PlayStation Vita in the near term. Playdead has not confirmed the pricing of Inside for PS4 but it will likely cost $19.99, as it does for other platforms.

Many gamers who like Inside have shared their joy online and are willing to pay that amount for the game on PS4.

"Sweet. I certainly don't mind paying another $20 to have this on PS4. The game is worth well over $60 to begin with," commented a gamer on YouTube.

The latest video trailer is now teasing PS4 gamers but it does not reveal a lot about the game. The teaser just shows the main character falling into an abyss. Hopefully, Playdead will release more videos for Inside before its release on PS4.
