T-Mobile is now not the only U.S. carrier to be offering the Android-powered affordable HTC Desire 530 smartphone — giving it company is Verizon Wireless.

Close on the heels of T-Mobile adding the HTC Desire 530 to its offerings, Verizon has followed suit, adding the 5-inch smartphone to its lineup.

The HTC Desire 530 was introduced by the company at the MWC 2016 in February. However, the smartphone only became available in the U.S. shores in July this year. The unlocked variant of the smartphone is available only in Sprinkle White and costs $179. T-Mobile, meanwhile, began selling the smartphone for $159.99 in July.

On Aug. 4, Verizon announced that starting Aug. 11 the HTC Desire 530 would be available from the carrier's brick and mortar stores. Those who want to purchase the smartphone from the network operator's online store can do so now.

"The HTC Desire 530 powered by Verizon, the better network, is available to order today. These feature-rich smartphones give you smooth video viewing and streaming, fast social sharing and crystal-clear calling on the nation's most reliable 4G LTE network," notes the carrier.

The Verizon variant of the entry-level handset is targeted at budget conscious buyers who want value for money. The off-contract version of the smartphone will set consumers back by $144, which is a savings of $35 on its original price. The Verizon variant of the handset is also cheaper than the T-Mobile variant by $15.

Those who want to purchase the HTC Desire 530 with a contract, need to shell out $0 down and as little as $6 per month for 24 months. That is not all for a limited period, existing Verizon customers who activate a new line will be able to get the HTC Desire 530 for $0 down and just $2 per month for 24 months, which means you are only spending $48 for the handset.

Existing Verizon subscribers who upgrade a line will get $50 off the $144 price. However, they need to order online "with device payment." What exactly the carrier means by device payment is unclear. This too is a limited period offer.

Lastly, those who are looking to go prepaid can also do so and need to shell out $99.99 for the smartphone. However, prepaid plan customers will get the HTC smartphone in the Stratus White color as opposed to the exclusive Blue Lagoon hue for other offers.

If you wish to order the 16 GB model of the HTC Desire 530 from Verizon online in Blue Lagoon, you can do so now.
