Saurik recently rolled out an update for the Cydia Eraser tool, so those who regret using Pangu to jailbreak their iPhones can now simply revert to a pristine iOS 9.3.3.

The timing is most appropriate as iOS 9.3.4 recently started landing on mobile devices, which could mean that the iOS 9.3.3 signing window could be near its closing.

Whether you used the Chinese Windows Pangu jailbreak tool, the Safari web browser option or the English Pangu tool, you can now get rid of the jailbreak and have your iPhone back in a neat, stock, standard iOS 9.3.3 version.

In July, Saurik re-branded Cydia Impactor into "Cydia Eraser" right ahead of the release of the English Pangu jailbreak tool. After the name change, Saurik said it only offers selective support for the dated iOS 9.0. Luckily for a slew of users, this week brought support for iOS 9.3.3.

Cydia Eraser

Cydia Eraser (ex-Impactor) clears out every trace of your current jailbreak and allows you to restore the device to the firmware it's already on. What is more, it does so sans logging into iTunes to "restore and update" the mobile gadget.

One great advantage of bypassing iTunes is that once you're back on the original firmware, you can jailbreak the device again, should you want to.

Another helpful thing to keep in mind: if you're thinking about selling a device, know that a jailbroken gadget sells for less than one that was not tampered with. By using Cydia Eraser to revert it to the default settings, you can get extra cash for it.

Last Resort

Phone experts advise that Cydia Eraser should be used only as a last resort, for example, when your jailbroken device is showing constant stability issues. Or when you want to sell a device with its original software.

This advice takes into account the fact that Cydia Eraser deletes your files and settings from iOS. As it finishes the process, you will have the device in out-of-the-box state, meaning no contacts, apps or general settings from your previous installation will be available.

Regardless of the purpose you are using it for, it works like a charm, making Cydia Eraser the go-to solution for restoring a device whose jailbreaking has gone south.
