Some iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus models are currently showing a shipping date of November from Apple's online store. A new report claims Apple retail stores will have all models, colors and storage capacities available for walk-in customers by Oct. 8.

Apple's new iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus completely sold out shortly after the company and carriers began accepting preorders for the devices. Sprint and T-Mobile reported record sales, which are due in part to free iPhone 7 deals available from all major U.S. carriers. As expected, the most popular devices are the exclusive Jet Black and Black color options, which currently show a November ship date from Apple's online store.

In late August we reported that iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus models were said to be in short supply at launch and the sources claimed it was due to "faulty components." Now, a new report claims supply of all iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus models, colors and storage capacities are about to drastically improve.

AppleInsider has been told by multiple sources that Apple retail stores will begin seeing improvements of stock conditions for the new iPhones very shortly. iPhone 7 availability will clear up first and most models, colors and storage configurations will be available for walk-in customers on Oct. 8.

The publication says that it has seen documents that prove a freight company's bankruptcy filing has caused several containers of iPhone and Apple Watch models to keep from being delivered before the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus' Sept. 16 release date.

It appears as if supply is already beginning to clear up for some, as T-Mobile customers are reporting the carrier is shipping some iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus orders ahead of schedule.

The shipping delay is likely a major reason why Apple announced it would not reveal first weekend sales of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus for the first time since the original went on sale in 2007.

While the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus feature a design very similar to that of the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus, don't expect to see Apple continue that look in 2017. The company is widely expected to launch a completely redesigned iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus next year, with the pair being billed as Apple's 10th anniversary iPhones.
