Apple is just coming off a successful September launch of its iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. The company is now expected to launch its redesigned MacBook Pro with OLED touch panel, Touch ID and more in late October.

While Apple has put much of its focus on its new iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, fans of its Mac computers have been waiting for the company to update the MacBook Pro, MacBook Air and iMac. It now appears Mac fans will be treated to such updates in the very near future.

We reported in August that Apple is expected to release a redesigned MacBook Pro that will feature a new OLED "Dynamic Function Row," updated MacBook Air and an AMD-based iMac. A new report from MacRumors claims Apple is aiming to launch at least the new MacBook Pro in late October.

The publication claims that Apple is working on an update to macOS Sierra 10.12.1, which is focused on preparing the newly released OS to support the new hardware features Apple is adding to the MacBook Pro. The OLED touch bar/Dynamic Function Row, Touch ID and AMD "Polaris" graphics chips require the updated OS.

Apple has already released macOS 10.12.1 to developers and beta testers and is reportedly planning to issue a new beta within the next week in order to finalize the OS.

Apple hasn't updated its Retina MacBook Pro since March 2015 and consumers have been holding off on purchasing the laptop because it's been widely reported that Apple is going to give it a redesign with a thinner body and bring major new features, like an OLED touch panel, Touch ID, faster processors and increased RAM, to its flagship laptop series.

It's unclear if Apple is planning to hold a special press event to unveil the new MacBook Pro or will announce the laptops via press release. As always, we'll keep you posted on any new MacBook Pro news as it becomes available.
