The iOS apps for YouTube, Facebook and Skype were recently updated to provide additional support to work with Apple's new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.
While most iOS apps previously received updates to ensure compatibility with the latest iOS 8 mobile operating system, these new updates provide compatibility to the new iPhones.
Version 2.13 of the YouTube app is an update that provides complete support for both the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus.
The latest version of the YouTube app also includes a bug fix for the app's status bar overlapping the UI and issues with the orientation of the keyboard. Before this latest update, users were being frustrated by keyboards that are displayed in landscape orientation while the user is trying to input search terms in the app's portrait orientation.
In addition, the update also makes it easier to scrub through videos as the app is more responsive. Users also gain the option to be able to see all the saved playlists when adding a video to them.

Facebook's latest version of its app, version 16.0, includes adjustments to its graphics that will allow the app to look better on the screens of the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 and the 5.5-inch iPhone 6 Plus. The adjustments include the reduction in size of native fonts and a smaller user interface to be more in proportion with the aspect ratio of the new iPhones.
The update for the Facebook app seems to only include graphical changes, with apparently nothing more receiving upgrades. The release notes for the app does not specify details to the changes, as it only reminds users that updates are released every two weeks to fix bugs and improve performance.

Lastly, Skype has released version 5.6 of its iOS app, which adds support for the screen sizes of the new iPhones among other new features and improvements to the app's performance.
Aside from compatibility with the resolutions of the new iPhones, the latest Skype app also introduced presence indicators in the app's Recents list, along with adjustments that show the number of contacts of the user and their time zones.
Skype chat conversation can also now be tagged as either unread or read individually, and app sounds now conform to the "Do not disturb" setting of the iOS.
The Skype app download comes at a size of 65MB.
