Despite the obvious writings on the wall, Warner Bros. and DC have been quite reliant on not confirming that Jason Momoa is indeed Aquaman. However, it all came to an end when the studios announced its slate of DC films throughout the years until 2020.

Jason Momoa is indeed the right man for the job, though we understand that some fans might have preferred if he was chosen to take on the role as the Main Man, Lobo. However, one should bear in mind that this actor did a splendid job as Kahl Drogo in Game of Thrones, and that is the type of performance we should want to see with Aquaman.

At the moment, DC and Warner Bros. have the perfect time to change how Aquaman is viewed in popular culture. The character is still being shunned due to his portrayal in the Super Friends cartoon series, and despite the many changes decades after, Aquaman is still seen as a wimp who talks to marine life.

Many of us already know the king of Atlantis is far from being just a hero who talks to fish and crabs, but others need some serious convincing. The best way to do that is to transform the character into a complete and utter badass, as if he is overcompensating for something.

We would love to see him at first with both hands, but when his solo movie comes along, Warner Bros. should allow the character to lose his wrist and work with the hook after. Let's face it: the best Aquaman is the one with the hook for a hand, along with his awesome facial hair.

It won't be easy for Warner Bros. to give viewers what they want because everything right now is riding on Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice being successful. With Chris Terrio rewriting the script, we have complete faith in this film, but anything is possible because Zack Snyder as a director is very hit-and-miss, so the quality could go both ways.
