A Vine savior has risen from the most unlikely of places. Pornhub just offered to buy Twitter's soon-dead Vine.

If you've missed the recent news, Twitter announced on Thursday that it will be shutting down Vine in the coming months. The announcement stirred a slew of mixed reactions, with some glad Vine will finally disappear and others sad to see Vine die.

We're not sure in what category Pornhub fits, as its latest offer to buy Vine is most likely just a joke to yank Twitter's chain. Pornhub vice president Corey Price reportedly sent a letter to Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey and shared it with CNET, which revealed the uncanny offer.

"We figure since Twitter has dropped (Vine) and is having significant layoffs, that you and your stakeholders could benefit from a cash infusion from the sale of Vine," Price wrote. "Not to mention we would be saving Vine gems like 'Damn Daniel,' 'Awkward Puppets' and many more."

Pornhub further pledged to "restore Vine to its NSFW glory," adding that six-second clips are "more than enough time for most people to enjoy themselves."

It all sounds like a good old prank, admittedly funny. Pornhub's purported offer to buy Vine seems to be just a joke and not a real business proposal, especially considering that Price pointed out Twitter's recent turmoil and shared the letter with a publication, knowing that it would get online before Dorsey even got a chance to formulate a response.

The purported proposal seems to be nothing more than a jab at Twitter and its move to shut down Vine. Even if it were a legitimate acquisition offer, it's unlikely that Twitter would agree to sell off Vine to Pornhub and see it turn into a pornographic, short NSFW video pool.

On the other hand, PCMag reached out to Pornhub to ask for more details and was told that the offer was no joke, it's "completely legitimate." The Pornhub spokesman did not disclose any financial details of the proposed deal, but noted that "the offer was substantial enough to make Jack [Dorsey] seriously consider it."

At the time of writing, Twitter has not offered any response to Pornhub in regard to its offer to buy Vine. At the same time, Twitter has yet to issue any statement on the matter.

Of all unlikely business deals and acquisitions, this one's definitely spicy and we're looking forward to seeing how Twitter will respond. As always, we'll keep you up to date as soon as we get more details.
