Halloween is just a few days away. Have you lit up your Jack-o-Lanterns yet?

Although most of us would be content with the generic two triangles and half-moon face for our fall season pumpkin heads, artist Jon Neill takes the classic Jack to the next level with his exceptionally creepy and realistic pumpkin carvings that will put your Halloween decorating attempts to shame.

Neill's Jack-o-Lanterns are more sculptural pieces than simple spooky décor. He turns ordinary pumpkins into scary blood-thirsty monsters, Frankenstein heads, insane clowns, frightened children, and so much more at his live carving demonstrations.

Art has been Jon Neill's passion since he was a year old when he took a sharpie marker and began to scribble all over the walls of his family home. His artistically inclined parents recognized that he was attempting to draw faces and enrolled him in art school from a young age. He graduated from the University of Kansas with a BFA in Visual Communication.

He has worked professionally for celebrity clients like Michael Jackson and on big Hollywood movies like Looper and Jurassic Park. He is now a member of the Laguna College of Art and Design.

His pumpkin-carving skills were also featured on the Food Network's Halloween Wars.

This Halloween, Neill showcases his specialty in sculpture with an amazing array of carved pumpkins and gourds and live demonstrations across the United States.

Neill's creations seem to have popped right out of your nightmares. Some of his pumpkins look like they would jump right at you and gobble you up!

These masterpieces of horror are available on his website and, as reported by Cube Breaker, "are chosen carefully from only the freshest California crops. After each carving is finished, they are treated with a mild bleach solution to extend their porch life as long as possible."

Check out some of his work below. You'll never look at a pumpkin the same way again.
