There's a Scream TV show in the making, and fans are extremely excited. However, the very thing that made scream popular will not be in the series, at least not in the early seasons, or who knows? Never at all.

Scream is one of the most notable slasher/horror films, and it is Ghost Face -- along with the bloody murders and people screaming their lungs out in hopes someone would hear them -- that makes the Scream movies so well known. People scream even more after realizing that no one else is around.

In an interview with GhostFace.co.uk, RJ Torbert spills the beans on what we should expect of Ghost Face in the new series.

When asked the burning question with regard to the character, Torbert said that despite MTV having no plans to bring Ghost Face on board this moving train at the moment, it doesn't mean he wouldn't show up in a later season.

"Please note that I had been in communication with TWC regarding this and they have informed me that, as of now, and during the initial launch that Ghost Face is NOT involved in the new format," says Torbert. "They also indicated that because of this direction, it does not mean that Ghost Face will not be involved at a later date. So, there is still a question to the question."

As of now, however, the iconic character has no involvement.

The big question right now is why Ghost Face is out of the picture. Well, it appears it has a lot to do with who owns the rights to the character. We understand that Fun World owns the rights to Ghost Face while The Weinstein Company owns the rights to Scream.

We have to wonder if The Weinstein Company is having difficulty coming to monetary terms with Fun World to use the character, or if there's some hidden plan to use Ghost Face in future seasons, should season 1 turn out to be something worth watching.

Whatever the case, Scream the TV show is happening, and we're almost certain the show runners already know that Scream is Ghost Face, and Ghost Face is Scream, so something has to give.
