Chinese drone maker DJI has revealed the Phantom 4 Pro, an upgrade to the Phantom 4, which was released about eight months ago.

The Phantom 4 Pro brings a number of enhanced features such as better camera, more battery life, advanced obstacle avoidance and more.

Advanced Camera Of Phantom 4 Pro

The Phantom 4 is well-known in the market for offering aerial imaging solution to customers. The camera has a 1/2.3-inch sensor. However, the successor of the Phantom 4 has seen a significant bump in camera specifications. The upgraded Phantom 4 Pro comes with a new 1-inch 20-megapixel sensor.

"A custom engineered lens made up of eight elements is arranged in seven groups, it is the first DJI camera to use a mechanical shutter that eliminates the rolling shutter distortion which can occcur when taking images of fast moving subjects or when flying at high speed high speed," says DJI.

Advanced Obstacle Sensing

The Phantom 4 Pro has five sensors: two at the front, one at the rear and one each on left and right of the drone. The presence of the rear sensor now allows users to avoid obstacles with ease even while reversing.

The high-resolution sensors avoid obstacles and protect the Phantom 4 Pro, which gives the confidence to shoot complex content with the drone. The Phantom 4 Pro can detect obstacles from up to 98 feet away.

Sensors on the belly of the drone help avoid landing on water or uneven surface.

Battery And Flight Time

The battery in the Phantom 4 Pro has seen a slight improvement. According to the company's official website the maximum flight time offered by the Phantom 4 is 28 minutes, which is 30 minutes in the case of Phantom 4 Pro.

Active Track Feature

The Active Track feature of the Phantom 4 Pro identifies a subject such as a bike or a person and then follows the identified subject. Active Track has also been enhanced that makes the drone fly sideways as well as backwards.

Return To Home

The return to home feature of the Phantom 4 Pro is useful as the drone chooses the best suitable route to return home.

Controller

The Phantom 4 Pro comes with a controller has a control range of seven kilometres. Customers can also opt for a controller with an in-built screen.

Price

The Phantom 4 Pro with regular controller is available for $1,499. Customers have to pay $1,799 if want to purchase drone with a controller that comes with integrated screen.

DJI drones are loved by many tech enthusiasts and it remains to be seen if the Phantom 4 Pro is able to attract drone lovers in the near term.
