Looking back on the evolution of Mac computers, Apple has sure come a long way. But even in the early days, Apple has been on the forefront of innovation and design, ever since the classic Apple Mac G5 was released in 2003.

More than a decade ago, the Power Mac G5 was the fastest computer sold by Apple. The Mac Pro would eventually steal the spotlight, replacing the G5 models in 2006. Since then, Apple continues to launch products with record-breaking sales.

With its sleek and futuristic design, it only makes sense that the old computers would catch the eye of designer Klaus Geiger.

Putting the old Macs to use, Geiger designed a collection that repurposes the old Power Mac G5s. Titled the "benchma[r]c" project, the furniture mirrors Apple's clean and sleek design. Similar to the interior design of Apple Stores, his collection of modern furniture includes office desks and tables designed using metal, wood and glass. In one design, a wooden plank is placed flat, held up by the Power Mac G5s as the base. The collection also features the Mac computers as drawers.

The modern style sure may look good, but the durability of the concepts has not yet been proven. You can still envision your dream office with your MacBook neatly placed on top of the modern furniture by checking out the concepts below.
