The Force was not on the side of Ukraine's very own Darth Vader as he was prohibited from placing his vote during the country's national parliament elections last Sunday.

This is not the first time the Sith Lord was turned away at the polling station. Last May, he was also not allowed to vote during the presidential elections. His refusal to remove his mask at the polling stations was in violation of Ukraine's voting rules.

Darth Alekseyevich Vader, formerly Viktor Shevchenko, legally changed his name prior to the elections is the official candidate of the Ukrainian Internet party (UIP), along with his running mates, Yoda, Padme Amidala, Chewbacca and Palpatine.

Vader promised his supporters that he would herald Ukraine into a "Galactic Empire" once he was in office, and usher in an electronic government. He promised he would remove all deputies from parliament since they have proven their "uselessness."

"Computers will work in their place and they will fulfill their functions without cease," he said.

Vader's campaign website describes him as "a candidate with a human face" but he has never shown his face in public. He was also recorded snatching away his passport from officials at polling stations when he showed up in full Darth Vader regalia, complete with the "Imperial Death March" playing in the background to herald his entrance on a traditional Ukrainian bandura.

Another video, which withheld his identity, showed that underneath his iconic black mask, Vader is a true Ukrainian - sporting the country's national haircut.

Although he was unable to cast his ballot, Vader spoke with optimism about his party's future, "The fact that I did not vote does not mean that my empire will not win," he said.

In previous electoral campaign when he ran for local government positions, Vader had promised free Wi-Fi for students and computers for all Ukrainian children 10 years old and up.
