SiriusXM has announced a slew of special events for New Year's Eve, including countdowns and live DJ sets and concerts by some of music's top stars including Maroon 5, Steve Aoki, Diplo, and Willie Nelson. The satellite radio service is also creating a brand new dedicated channel just for New Year's, entitled New Year's Nation.

Each year, Americans seem to be two different mindsets about New Year's Eve. Some people are ready to ring in the new year by blowing it out at the club or a big party, while others are more than content to stay safe at home and watch the partying from inside on their television sets as the Times Square ball drops and celebrants brave the typically freezing weather.

Whichever category you fall into, if you're one of SiriusXM's over 30 million subscribers, the satellite radio company has got you covered. SiriusXM has just announced that it will be broadcasting a slew of specialized programming just for New Year's, including something for everyone across the many musical genres represented on its extensive channel lineup.

Live Concerts In Numerous Genres

Fans of Adam Levine's pop rock group Maroon 5 can hear a live concert on New Year's Eve, simulcast from the Mandalay Bay Events Center on SiriusXM's The Pulse channel. EDM fans are in luck as well, as two of electronic dance music's biggest DJs, Diplo and Steve Aoki will be broadcasting their sets live from the NOS Event Center on SiriusXM's Electric Area channel. Country music fans are also in for a treat as SiriusXM's Willie's Roadhouse channel will air namesake Willie Nelson's concert at ACL Live at the Moody Theater. Other live concerts from Widespread Panic, KC & the Sunshine Band, Kool & The Gang Southside Johnny, and The Cowsills will also air on the appropriate SiriusXM channels.

New Year's Countdowns And Special Station

The year's end is also the time when everyone looks back at the top songs of the year, and SiriusXM will provide a dozen countdowns in various genres on 12 of its satellite radio channels: Hits1, The Highway, Coffee House, Watercolors, Pop 2K, The Pulse, BPM, Caliente, Bluesville, The Loft, The Heat and Heart & Soul. In addition, a number of other stations will countdown the all-time best songs in their respective genres.

Those looking for a soundtrack to their house party or just wanting to hear upbeat, fun music from all of SiriusXM's channels to ring in 2017 can turn to a special temporary channel on SiriusXM created just for New Year's, entitled New Year's Nation, on channel 18, beginning on Friday, Dec. 30 at 5:00 p.m. ET and running through Monday, Jan. 2 at 3:00 a.m. ET. The channel, along with all the aforementioned stations can be accessed via the SiriusXM smartphone app as well as online.
