The purported Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017) has leaked in press renders that offer a glimpse of its design and color options, while also revealing some core specifications.

The newly leaked renders allegedly revealing the design of the Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017) show the device in four color options: Black, Gold, Blue and Pink, which falls in line with previous rumors hinting at the five avatars.

Aside from offering a glimpse of the handset's purported design, the latest leak also reveals some details regarding the smartphone's specifications. If these leaked specs turn out to be accurate, the Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017) will be an upper-midrange handset with good hardware but nothing extraordinary.

Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017) Specs

SlashLeaks reveals that the Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017) will feature a 5.2-inch full HD display (1,920 x 1,080 pixels) and pack a Samsung Exynos 7880 processor under the hood, with a 1.8 GHz octa-core CPU and Mali-T860 MP4 graphics. Other purported specs include 3 GB of RAM, 32 GB of internal storage, 16-megapixel cameras on both the front and back of the smartphone, and a 3,000 mAh battery to power things up.

The Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017) also surfaced on Geekbench recently, and the newly-leaked specifications fall in line with the recent benchmark listing.

Geekbench also revealed that the Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017) will come with Android 6.0 Marshmallow on board, which seems like an odd choice considering that Android 7.0 Nougat is already out and about and the Galaxy A5 will not launch until 2017.

The Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017) is further expected to sport an USB Type-C port and could have a fingerprint scanner embedded into its home button. An IP68 certification for water and dust resistance could also be in the cards.

Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017) Price And Release

Slaskleaks also reveals that the Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017) will come at a price point of 2,699 Yuan, which would translate to roughly $389 based on current exchange rates.

The 2017 Samsung Galaxy A5 will likely make its official debut next month at the CES 2017 trade show in Las Vegas, alongside the Galaxy A3 (2017) and the Galaxy A7 (2017). The latter also leaked recently in a 360-degree video, showing a sleek device with a metal and glass construction and curved edges.

Samsung has yet to officially unveil its 2017 Galaxy A series devices, so it's advised to take all leaks and reports with a grain of salt for now. CES 2017 is just around the corner and we'll get the real scoop straight from the source soon enough, so stay tuned.
