The winners of the VGX 2013, Spike TV's gaming awards, have been declared.

The award ceremony took place on Saturday, December 7, as several popular games walked away with top honors.

The show featured footage and coverage of popular titles like Titanfall, The Witcher 3, Thief etc. and also focused on two new projects from developer Telltale Games - Game of Thrones series and Tales from the Borderlands. The awards show also showcased premieres of upcoming games.

The prestigious game of the year award was taken home by Grand Theft Auto V, which thwarted competition from BioShock Infinite, Super Mario 3D World, The Last of Us, and Tomb Raider.
