Marvel's Agents of SHIELD has not performed well since the second season kicked off. Ratings have been low since the very first episode of the season, and some fans were wondering what it would take to kick things into gear.

Well, things have changed tremendously for Agents of SHIELD due to the airing of a single episode, and it has nothing to do with that episode being exciting or being the best episode of the whole season. Apparently, folks watched the episode to get a sneak peek at the extended trailer of Avengers: Age of Ultron.

Because the episode was a lot better than anticipated, there's a high chance that some viewers might return next week to find out what is going to happen next. Folks who never liked the show might not feel compelled to return, but we have a feeling Marvel is aiming for the newcomers instead of the diehard comic book fanboys.

We understand that Agents of SHIELD ratings jumped by a massive 13 percent compared to the previous episode. The new rating is the highest the show has ever seen since the first episode of season 2 premiered back in September. Marvel now has the enormous task of keeping the show interesting in order for viewers to have a reason to return.

When it comes down to another comic book TV show, The Flash, the series started off quite well; it is gradually declining, but not enough to warrant fans to worry. The Flash right now is still CW's #1 show in demos, and that is not expected to change anytime soon.

Supernatural declined a bit but is still managing to rake in over 2 million viewers per week. For a long-time series, the show is still going strong, and as long as there are supernatural creatures to kill, Supernatural may always have millions of viewers lining up every week in front of their TVs.

In other news, The Voice is engaging over 10 million viewers per week, though ratings have dropped by 15 percent. That's a huge problem, and the folks behind the show are hoping that things will kick back into gear as the final bout is just around the corner.
