Verizon is currently running a promotion that shaves $100 off select flagships, including the Samsung Galaxy S7 series, HTC 10, LG G5 and other top smartphones.
We've come a long way since mobile phones first hit the market and smartphones nowadays are somewhat like mini PCs, serving for far more than just handling calls and text messages. High-end smartphones are powerful enough to handle a wide variety of tasks, from streaming online videos to taking quality photos, but they come with a price to match.
Flagship smartphones require a hefty investment and top handsets from well-known brands such as Samsung, HTC and LG definitely don't come cheap. Occasional promotions make them more affordable, however, and Verizon customers looking for a new flagship smartphone are now in luck.
Verizon Promo On Top Smartphones
If you missed out on Black Friday, Cyber Monday or holiday sales, Verizon is now running a new promotion that allows interested customers to save $100 when buying a new handset through Verizon EDGE.
This might be a drawback for some, as it means that the discounted price is not available when purchasing the device outright – only in installments.
At the same time, there's another caveat: the promo is valid only for new customers and new lines. Existing Verizon customers who want to upgrade their current line can't take advantage of this deal unless they add a new line altogether.
While not ideal, it's still a tempting offer for those already thinking about joining Verizon or adding a new line. The Samsung Galaxy S7 typically costs $672, but the promo knocks the price down to $572. The Galaxy S7 edge drops from $792 to $692, with payments of $28.83 per month.
The promo is also available for older devices such as the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus, Samsung Galaxy S6, iPhone SE, Motorola Droid Turbo 2 and others. The Galaxy S6 drops to $476, for instance, while the Droid Turbo 2 gets down to $428. They're part of the 2015 lineup, but they still pack a punch.
How To Take Advantage Of This Deal
Interested customers who want to take advantage of this promotion will need to use the VZWDeal promo code at checkout, which will automatically add the $100 discount. It's also worth pointing out that this deal is available exclusively online.
Alternately, Verizon is also running some other promo deals, including trade-in offers or a neat bundle for the latest Galaxy flagships. More specifically, the carrier is throwing in a free Gear Fit 2 with the purchase of a Galaxy S7 or Galaxy S7 edge for a limited time, until Jan. 15.
More promotional offers will likely become available from all major U.S. carriers soon enough, however, especially since new-generation flagship smartphones will soon start hitting the scene. The LG G6, Samsung Galaxy S8, HTC 11 and more Android smartphones should debut in the near future, while Apple's iPhone 8 will make an appearance later this year.
