We're still months away from a new iPhone launch, but an intriguing concept video envisions the design of the rumored iPhone X.

The rumor mill is always churning especially when it comes to big brands such as Apple, and the next-generation iPhone 8 has stirred a great deal of speculation so far. Among the most recent rumors, it's said that Apple will replace the aluminum chassis with stainless steel and a new video shows how a steel-and-glass iPhone X could look like.

iPhone X Concept: Stainless Steel And Glass

As first reported by 9to5Mac, the concept video from Imran Taylor shows a tentative iPhone 8 (X) design with a glass back like the iPhone 4, and stainless steel edges. A glass back would mark a big departure from the metallic rear casing Apple used for the iPhone 5, iPhone 5s, iPhone 6, iPhone 6s, and the latest iPhone 7 series.

Nevertheless, the video is based on recent rumors regarding the upcoming iPhone. KGI was the first to report that Apple was working on a glass back design for its next smartphone and subsequent reports backed up the claim.

The new concept created by Taylor shows a sleek iPhone X with a thin stainless steel band sandwiched between the tapered glass edges on both the front and rear of the device. This could provide a more comfortable grip for the larger iPhone model.

The last time Apple used a design combining a flat-sided stainless steel band with a glass back was with the iPhone 4s, but the more recent iPhone SE does feature a similar design with aluminum instead of steel.

The back of the concept iPhone features a glass chassis and a vertical dual camera layout, which has been rumored as well. In an intriguing twist, the concept video also shows a Smart Connector reminiscent of the iPad Pro, and that's not part of the recent iPhone 8/X rumors.

When it comes to color options, the concept video shows the iPhone X in Gold, Rose Gold and Silver avatars, as well as the scratch-prone Jet Black avatar introduced with the iPhone 7.

Taylor's concept design also shows a huge screen-to-body ratio and no physical home button, instead envisioning a secondary display right beneath the main one, fitted so inconspicuously that it's almost invisible at first glance.

Older iPhone rumors did entertain the possibility of a dual display, but they eventually gave way to current expectations of a capacitive home button embedded into the (single) display.

How do you feel about a potential stainless steel-and-glass design for the iPhone 8/X? Would this combination of curved glass edges with a steel frame be appealing? Check out the concept video below and drop by our comment section to share your thoughts on the matter.

Lastly, keep in mind that this is just a concept video that envisions what the design could look like and doesn't show the actual design in its final form. It's just another form of speculation and it may or may not turn out to be accurate, so treat it accordingly.
