The superhero movie Avengers: Infinity War is already big with a superstar cast, with 67 characters reported to appear. Now, it is having another super addition.

Mantis On Marvel: Infinity War

Mantis, who is set to appear in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, is confirmed to be on Marvel: Infinity War, too. This is confirmed by none other than Pom Klementieff, who will play the superheroine Mantis.

She posted a photo on her Instagram wearing an Infinity War knit cap and another one of her character Mantis on the cover of Avengers #123.

Mantis is an empath raised by Star-Lord's father, the ancient cosmic being known as Ego, 'The Living Planet.' He will be portrayed by Kurt Russell. Mantis is also well-trained in martial arts, with the ability to sense the enemy weak pressure points. In the comic books, she met the Avengers after her bout with Moondragon.

"She has never really experienced social interaction. Everything she learns about dealing with people, she learns from the Guardians of the Galaxy, which is a very weird group to learn your social intricacies from," said executive producer Jonathan Schwartz.

Klementieff is joining an ensemble cast full of colorful actors portraying colorful characters. Aside from the aforementioned Russell, Also starring are Chris Pratt (Star-Lord), Dave Bautista (Drax), Karen Gillan (Nebula), Zoe Saldana (Gamora), Bradley Cooper (Rocket Raccoon), and fan-favorite Vin Diesel (Groot).

The Avengers: Infinity War is also another superstar-laden cast that broke blockbuster earnings. Klementieff will join Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Chris Evans (Captain America), Mark Ruffalo (Hulk), Benedict Cumberbatch (Dr. Strange), Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye), Samuel Jackson (Nick Fury), and Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow).

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2 picks up where the first film left off. The Guardians travel through the cosmos as they help Peter Quill a.k.a. Star-Lord learn more about his parentage.

Pom Klementieff Roles

Pom Klementieff is a Canadian-born Korean-French actress who appeared in films such as Spike Lee's remake of the Korean classic Oldboy. She also appeared on Hacker's Game and Ingrid Goes West. She also has a purple belt in taekwondo (a plus factor for her Mantis role).

The Avengers: Infinity War is set for a worldwide release on May 4, 2018. It is currently under production. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, on the other hand, is scheduled for a May 5, 2017 opening. Both film franchises are owned by Marvel under its Marvel Studios creative umbrella.
