Rumors surrounding the alleged Nokia P1 are floating online, and the flagship smartphone is expected to be launched at the MWC 2017.

HMD Global, the firm that has the license to produce Nokia products, confirmed that it will hold a press conference on Feb. 26, where Nokia smartphones for 2017 are expected to be introduced.

Nokia 6, the mid-range smartphone, has been quite a success. The device met with positive reviews and was sold out within a minute of its first flash sale in China.

The company is allegedly working on a smartphone dubbed the Nokia P1 and here's a look at the rumored specs, features and release date of the handset.

Display

The Nokia P1 is expected to sport a 5.3-inch screen with Gorilla Glass 5. The screen may either be Full HD or Quad HD.

Processor And RAM

The Nokia P1 was earlier rumored to house a Snapdragon 835 processor, which seems less likely now with Samsung calling dibs on the first batch of the processors for its Galaxy S8. Therefore, either the Nokia P1 will house some other processor or its launch may get postponed.

Rumors suggest that the handset could come with 6 GB of RAM.

Camera

Rumors and leaks suggest that the Nokia P1 may come armed with a massive 22.6MP primary camera equipped with Carl Zeiss optics. If this news turns out to be true then, very few rival smartphones will be able to match up to Nokia P1 when it comes to camera capabilities.

Storage

In terms of internal memory, the Nokia P1 may be available in two storage options — 128 GB and 256 GB. Whether the memory will be expandable via a microSD card is not known.

Battery

The upcoming Nokia smartphone is rumored to have a 3500 mAh battery and equipped with Quick Charging.

OS

The smartphone will likely come pre-loaded with Android 7.0 Nougat.

Additional Features

The smartphone is also expected to house a fingerprint scanner, which will likely be located on the right side of the device and not on the front or back panel of the handset as is usually seen in other smartphones.

According to a concept video made based on all the leaks and rumors, the new Nokia P1 may have a metal frame body with a hybrid dual SIM slot located at the left edge of the handset.

The Nokia P1 may also boast a Type C port, a speaker grille, and a 3.5mm audio jack, all of which are expected to be located at the bottom edge of the device

The home button is expected to be located below the display screen. It is not known whether the smartphone will be water and dust resistant.

Price And Availability

As stated earlier, the Nokia P1 is expected to come in two storage capacities. The 128 GB variant is expected to be priced $800 and the 256 GB option will likely be priced around $950.

The flagship smartphone is expected to be unveiled at the MWC 2017 and it is not known when the device will hit the shelves.
