As we inch closer to the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S8, the more rumors are floating about the phone. Recent reports say that the Samsung flagship will be carrying a voice assistant software in the form of Bixby, which has been developed by the same team that created Apple's Siri. Bixby may be accompanied by another A.I., as Samsung has filed a trademark for Samsung Hello in the European Intellectual Property Office.

Aside from dual-camera phones, another mobile trend that will be seen this year is A.I. Samsung Bixby is supposed to be the South Korean tech company's answer to Google Assistant, while Samsung Hello will be its counterpart for Google Now.

According to the trademark filing, Samsung Hello will be a "software that can curate content like games, music, the weather and social news based on user preferences." In addition to that, the software will be able to "learn what you like and customize a feed to serve you this content."

Samsung Bixby And Samsung Hello

The patent filing also says that Samsung Hello will provide "personalized features and information based on user's preferences in the fields of weather, music, entertainment, games, travel, science, health, contact, and social news via voice command and voice recognition."

Based on the description of the patent, Samsung Hello will be able to provide information at a glance based on the habits and preferences of its user, and will be similar to Google Now and HTC BlinkFeed. For the uninitiated, Google Now is an A.I. that uses geographic location, search history, and emails in order to come up with its personal recommendations to its users.

It is not clear on how the Bixby will tie in with Samsung Hello. It is possible that they're one and the same. It is also possible that Samsung Hello won't be a stand-alone A.I. assistant, and will just be an extension of Bixby. It is pure speculation at this point, and we won't know for sure until Samsung's flagship launches by Mar. 29 at a New York City event.

Other Samsung Galaxy S8 Updates

In other Samsung Galaxy S8 updates, an earlier Tech Times report says that the 5.8-inch Galaxy S8 will have a 3,000mAh battery, while the battery for the 6.2-inch model will have 3,500mAh. Neowin also reports that it has uncovered the logo for Bixby, which closely resembles the letter 'B' and the number '8.'
