The latest smartwatch from Tag Heuer that was rumored to launch in May is now rumored to get a March 14 launch.

The rumored smartwatch dubbed Tag Heuer Connected Modular is speculated to come loaded with some landmark features and designs, which will set it apart from the rest of the wearables available in the market.

The device is expected to come with Android Wear 2.0, which would definitely give the smartwatch an edge in the wearable market.

Why Add Modular In The Name?

The word "Modular" has been used in the name of the impending smartwatch because of the changeable watch case that comes along with the device. The swappable watchcase allows the user to change the Android Wear 2.0 powered watch's body with a different one, which offers a "more traditional movement."

If this rumored feature turns out to be true, it may prove very useful for users who were initially interested in Tag Heuer Connected but couldn't afford the device due to its expensive price tag. Moreover, it will also allow the users to change a smartwatch into a traditional watch within a moment's notice, befitting the occasion and situation.

Expected Features

The TAG Heuer Connected Modular is expected to come loaded with extraordinary features such as swappable watch straps, clasps in different colors, and tailormade lugs.

However, the rumored changeable straps along with different colors options may be sold as an add-on accessory to allow users to choose more than one strap based on their choices and taste.

Jean-Claude Biver, the head of Tag Heuer, said that the smartwatch is expected to come in two different variants. He also mentioned that the premium smartwatch will be featuring some kind of payment option and an enhanced GPS module, which will help users track their location within a radius of 1 meter.

"A processor that will be used in this smartwatch will be manufactured in Switzerland, and it seems like we're looking at an Intel SoC here, as Tag Heuer did strike a licensing deal with the company back in December," said Jean-Claude Biver in a recent interview.

Price And Release

No details regarding the pricing of the product have been revealed as of now. However, due to the device's high end features, the price may be steep. With the March 14 rumored release barely a month away, watch lovers can now look forward to the device's arrival soon.
