Black Friday is on the horizon, and Verizon Wireless is making plans to give away a lot of freebies to its customers before the day arrives. The plan is to make the journey more entertaining for folks who are traveling on Thanksgiving Eve this year.

According to the carrier, the aim is to give away freebies to customers come Nov. 26, a full two days before Black Friday. Nov. 26 is one of the busiest travel days of the year, so we expect thousands to take advantage of all the things Verizon has to offer.

Interestingly enough, one doesn't have to be a Verizon customer to get in on the deal. The carrier is working closely with other companies such as Amazon, Apple, Boingo Wireless, Condé Nast, Gogo Technologies, JetBlue, and Pandora. Any wireless customer will have the chance to take advantage of the decent amount of free stuff Verizon plans to give away, and we find it pretty amazing.

So, what will Verizon be giving away before Black Friday?

  • Free access to TV shows and movies via Verizon's FiOS mobile app. Only a selected few films will be available under this deal.
  • There will also be 10 discounted/free apps available for folks to download. Furthermore, download two free Audible books and get $10 Audible credit from Amazon.
  • Come Nov. 26, Apple will reveal an exceptional offer.
  • Everyone who signs up will get 30-minute free Internet sessions via Boingo Wireless at airports, and Gogo Technologies while in-flight
  • Between Nov. 26 and Dec. 24, customers will get free Wi-Fi via JetBlue flights only. We're not certain if others will be included before the date arrives.
  • A decent free seven-day trial of Pandora One.

Verizon has named this particular day, "Connection Day," and the company has created a website where interested folks can sign-up and view a countdown to when everything is ready to kick off in spades.

Verizon customers should bear in mind that if they sign up, they will get 1GB of shareable data. That's not a lot, but it should be good enough for downloading a few apps, and wasting away on Facebook, Instagram, and twitter.
