The much-awaited Samsung Galaxy S8 is slated for a March 29 launch in New York City, and is anticipated to hit the shelves in April.

Samsung Galaxy S8 is the successor of the Galaxy S7, and has been subjected to various leaks on many occasions.

Apart from leaks, the upcoming Samsung flagship has also been compared with other premium smartphones like the iPhone 7. The latest leak pertaining to Galaxy S8 shows the image of the impending smartphone placed between the iPhone 7 and the Galaxy S7 edge.

What Does The Comparison Reveal?

Based on the leaked images, the Galaxy S8 appears to be taller than the iPhone 7, but a tad smaller than its predecessor Galaxy S7 edge. The upcoming flagship device is also seen flaunting curved corners along with minimal bezels on top and bottom. It can also be seen that Samsung has done away with the home button on the front display of the Galaxy S8

Although a bit smaller than the Galaxy S7 edge, the impending Galaxy S8 looks much more compact compared with its predecessor. This is largely due to the minimal bezels on its top and bottom panels. Apart from this, the upcoming Samsung flagship can be seen boasting the rumored 85 percent screen-to-body ratio.

Galaxy S8: Release Details

The Galaxy S8 is expected to become available for preorder from April 7, especially for the people in South Korea. There is no information about the worldwide availability of the device.

The preorder of the Samsung device is expected to wrap up on April 17 in its home country. There are also reports that from April 18, Samsung may host the prelaunch event for the smartphone, but only in South Korea.

The flagship device is expected to be released in the United States on April 28. Previous rumors suggested that the Galaxy S8 will hit U.S. shelves on April 21.

Even as consumers look forward to the handset's arrival, analysts are not very optimistic about the smartphone's sales. The Galaxy S8 has been anticipated to be less successful in terms of sales as compared with the iPhone 8. According to reports, the iPhone 8, which is expected to feature the OLED display, may negatively impact Galaxy S8 sales.

The Samsung flagship is rumored to sport a 5.8-inch screen, Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 835 processor, along with 4 GB of RAM, and an internal storage of 64 GB. The flagship smartphone may also come with IP68 certification and could be available in multiple hues, including a violet option.
