Not too long ago it was reported that Guillermo del Toro had already finished his script for Justice League Dark and sent it off to Warner Bros. for review.

This got a lot of fans talking, mainly about whether or not Warner Bros. would give the greenlight, and who would be part of del Toro's league.

Del Toro has come out and revealed his choice for a Justice League Dark team. He mentioned the names of Swamp Thing, Demon, Deadman and Zatanna during an interview with Collider. Interestingly enough, del Toro made no mention of John Constantine, leaving some fans to wonder if the character slipped his mind.

A team without Constantine would be quite unusual, as the character is one of the well-known figures in the Dark Universe, although it wouldn't be a total loss without him because the current lineup is quite sufficient.

It would also be interesting to see how del Toro portrays Swamp Thing on the big screen. We'd like to think that he would be the most difficult to pull off on screen, which is one of the main reasons why the character has never surfaced.

Furthermore, fans should not expect Justice League Dark to be part of the DC Cinematic Universe. We understand that if Warner Bros. gives the greenlight, the film will be set in its own universe. Whether or not that is a bad thing is still left to be seen, but things should come to light in the coming years.

Fans of the Dark Universe have been waiting for years for a Justice League Dark film, but Warner Bros. had been dragging its feet, and only took the project seriously after Marvel Studios began releasing hit after hit on a yearly basis. Warner Bros. is now faced with the task of catching up to a well-oiled Marvel machine that appears unable to do anything wrong.

Right now, Warner Bros. has no room to fail with Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Suicide Squad in 2016 or everything could come crashing. DC fans would likely cry tears of pain as it would take another decade or so before Warner Bros. would consider taking another shot.
