When they're not busy saving the world from space invaders, The Avengers assemble to bring some holiday cheer by singing Christmas Carols in a mash-up video that has gone viral.

The man behind the video is James Covenant, a video editor who was also behind last year's masterpiece, Jean-Luc Picard singing "Let it Snow" (or rather, "make it so!")

For this year's Christmas treat, he spliced together pieces of single word dialogue from scenes in the Marvel Alliance franchise to put together completely unique rendition of "Joy to the World" and "We Wish You a Merry Christmas."

"Jarvis, drop my needle," Tony Stark begins the festivities as he joins the others in the holiday spirit.

Even the most unlikeliest of characters are in the singing mood. Where else can you find Loki, rejoining his father, Odin, and brother, the Mighty Thor, along with the rest of the heroes to bring glad tidings to you and your... Hulk?

The highlight of the reel is the bonus song at the end featuring walking, talking Christmas tree of sorts, Groot, from Guardians of the Galaxy.

In class and style that only Groot can pull off, the singing, dancing plant sings "Jingle Bells" in perfect clarity, using the only three words he knows how to say: I am Groot.

Other song mashups that Covenant has created feature the Star Wars Trilogy (Original and Prequels) cast singing Carly Rae Jepsen's Call Me Maybe, the races of Middle Earth singing Ke$ha's Die Young, and another Avengers parody (though not a mash-up) with the Age of Ultron villains singing "There are no Strings on Me" from Disney's Pinocchio.
