2014 was a fantastic year for film. There were so many hit movies that it was nearly impossible to see them all; even the summer blockbusters, which tend to be less than spectacular, were great. People can complain all they want about Transformers: Age of Extinction, but even that mess wasn't able to ruin such a good year.

Despite being the leader of the free world, it seems that even President Obama was able to take advantage of the movie scene this year. During an interview with People, the President revealed his top pick for the year - and no, it wasn't Captain America.

Instead, President Obama went with the film Boyhood, a drama that was shot over the course of more than a decade and showed the growth of a young boy and his family. Obama said, "Boyhood was a great movie. That, I think, was my favorite movie this year." The film has already won a number of awards, but it's unlikely that any of them can really compare to a glowing recommendation from the President.

Film wasn't the only thing discussed during the interview, as Obama touched on a number of subjects. The President discussed his current reading materials, a book named Redeployment, and his favorite viral videos of the year.

"My favorite of all time, I think, was BatDad...Whoever BatDad is out there, man, I was into your thing."

Of course, the President wasn't about to forget about his wife's own viral success:

"Clearly, the most astonishing Vine this year was Michelle and the turnip...I mean, let's face it - who else can make a turnip into a star but Michelle Obama?"

It's nice to see that, in between Congress blocking every bill he tries to pass and dealing with psychotic foreign dictators, President Obama still has time to relax.
