Samsung has recently announced that its Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ flagships are getting a new Sunrise Gold color option in the United States on June 24.

The Sunrise Gold avatar has already been available for Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ smartphones in other markets such as Samsung's home country of South Korea, Mexico, Russia, and Australia, but so far it has been absent from the U.S. market.

In fact, this will be the first new color option Samsung is launching in the United States since the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ made their official debut back in March. The new avatar will join the existing ones, namely Midnight Black, Coral Blue, and Lilac Purple. A Burgundy Red avatar is still awaited in the United States.

Samsung highlights that for a good while now, it has launched a gold version of every Galaxy smartphone.

"For Galaxy S9 and S9+, we wanted to create a new luxurious gold edition that is both gender neutral and appeals to people of all ages, including millennials," says Hye-jin Bang, a designer at Samsung. "Based on the latest trends in various industries, such as interior design, and extensive global consumer surveys, we found that Sunrise Gold meets all our objectives."

Compared to the Maple Gold version of the Galaxy S8 series, the Sunrise Gold color option for the Galaxy S9 line is warmer and lighter.
