According to Nintendo Life, the event will begin at 5am on December 31. Isabel will give you a little message to remind you of the New Year's Eve celebrations that will happen in the Resident Services Plaza, which will be closed on your island.
Tom Nook and Isabelle will dress for the occasion while the plaza is heavily decorated with tons of balloons and a prize cart. The building itself is covered by various kinds of lights while a giant countdown clock sits as the main centerpiece by midnight.
YouTube Crossing Channel On Dec. 31, a giant party for the whole island will be held in the plaza and festivities will happen all day. Tom Nook and Isabel will give you with cool items. Aside from updating you about preparations, Isabel will also give you a brand new item, the light stick, which you can only get hold on New Year's Eve. It is great to get one for yourself, which you can wave around during the countdown.
