LG officially announced its G Flex2 with a 5.5-inch 1080p flexible display at CES but never revealed pricing. Amazon's German store has listed the phablet for preorder and has priced it at 599 euro.

Samsung beat LG to the punch by a few days when it released the first smartphone with a flexible display when it unveiled the 5.7-inch Galaxy Grand in October 2013. Samsung didn't ship the handset worldwide and the device saw an extremely limited release on SK Telecom in South Korea. LG announced its curved display smartphone, the LG G Flex, in late October 2013.

Unlike the limited release of the Samsung Galaxy Round, LG shipped the G Flex worldwide and the phablet made its way to AT&T, Sprint, and T-Mobile in the U.S. AT&T and Sprint priced the LG G Flex at $299 when signing a new 2-year contract and T-Mobile offered it for $28 per month over 24 months or outright for $672. The handset carried premium pricing due to its 6-inch flexible display but consumers looking to purchase its successor, the LG G Flex 2, could see a more affordable price.

Amazon's German store has a preorder listing for the LG G Flex 2 and it's priced at 599 euro off-contract, which could put the U.S. variant around $600, depending on conversion. This unsubsidized price will likely translate into $199 with a 2-year contract when the phablet hits the U.S.

The LG G Flex 2 features a 5.5-inch curved 1080p P-OLED display with a pixel density of 403 pixels per inch (ppi). The phablet is powered by Qualcomm's latest 2 GHz 64-bit Octa-Core Snapdragon 810 processor. It has 3 GB (in 32-GB model) or 2 GB (in 16-GB model) of RAM depending on internal storage, and a microSD expansion slot that will support up to 128-GB microSD cards. The handset will ship with Android 5.0.1 Lollipop out of the box along with LG's custom user interface running on top.

The G Flex 2's camera capabilities consist of a 13-megapixel rear camera with laser auto-focus, OIS+ (optical image stabilization), dual-LED flash, 2160p video recording at 30 fps, and a 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera for video chat, selfies, and support for 1080p video at 30 fps. The smartphone includes a large, nonremovable 3,000 mAh battery and a "self-healing" rear case that can remove minor scratches.

As always, once we hear any definitive news on an expected U.S. launch date and price for the LG G Flex 2, we'll update you.
