PARIS, FRANCE - JANUARY 29: In this photo illustration, the home page of the FaceTime application is displayed on the screen of an Apple iPhone on January 29, 2019 in Paris, France. An important security vulnerability has been discovered on FaceTime, the video conferencing application developed by Apple. Applying video or audio calls allows the user to hear, and even see, his correspondent on an iPhone even before he has dropped out, raising concerns about data privacy.

ESPN+ SharePlay Support

As per a news story by 9to5Mac, ESPN+ said in its latest update notes that users of its app on iOS can now watch live sports and ESPN Originals content with their friends using the SharePlay feature of Apple.

The version 6.64 of the ESPN streaming app supports various Apple platforms, such as iPad, iPhone, and Apple TV, as long as the iOS, iPad OS, or tvOS software are updated to their latest versions.

As such, Apple device owners could now stream live sports events from the library of ESPN, such as NBA, NFT, MLB, as well as other sports like Tennis, Golf, and Soccer.

On top of that, ESPN+ users could also SharePlay its non-live shows SportsCenter, letting them watch it as well with their friends and family.

9to5Mac further added in the same report that Disney, which owns ESPN, has already included SharePay support to its own streaming service that goes by the name Disney+ since December 2021.

A few months after the integration of SharePlay on Disney+, ESPN+ is following the footsteps of its sibling by allowing the sharing feature for live sports.

Apple SharePlay

The SharePlay function of Apple debuted on its device last November, along with the release of iOS 15.1, according to a recent report by Trusted Reviews.

The sharing function of the iPhone maker allows its users to stream movies and shows from various streaming services, as well as music. Not to mention that it also supports social media platforms, including TikTok and Twitch.

The feature works through the video calling app of Apple, FaceTime, allowing users to share various media content while they are on a call.

Since then, tons of apps have supported the feature, namely, Paramount +, NBA, and even Apple TV Plus.

This time around, thousands of sporting events are now available for sharing with friends and family members with the recent inclusion of ESPN+.

That said, more sports fans could now use the Apple feature to enjoy their favorite major games with other folks.
