A Brooklyn subway station suffered from a smoke bombing, leading to some injuries and panic. As of writing, authorities are still investigating the crime scene since 13 individuals were hospitalized after the attack.

Five individuals were shot by the attacker. Most of the victims are now being treated after inhaling smoke bombs. 

Brooklyn Subway Station Attack 

According to CBS News' latest report, the New York Police Department (NYPD) said that the gunman, who successfully escaped, threw a smoke bomb onto the train after it arrived at the 25th Street subway station in Brooklyn, New York.

In a bid to save $1.2 billion, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) announced its budget for the upcoming year which includes cutting as much as 40% of service on subways and buses, and 50% on commuter rail lines.

The criminal used the smoke to hide, allowing him to free fire on the people inside the train. One of the police at the crime scene claimed that the man was wearing a gas mask. 

Aside from this, he added that the guy wore an orange-colored reflective construction. As of press time, NYP is still in the Sunset Park neighborhood. 

The attack forced the subway trains to be delayed as well.  

Undetonated Devices Were Found

The New York Post reported that some undetonated devices were also found in the Brooklyn subway station. This detail was confirmed by the New York City Fire Department (FDNY). 

This just shows the suspect really planned his crime. Because of this, it is important to stay alert if you are near the crime scene. Remember, the gunman hasn't been caught yet.

  • Always remain calm. 
  • Make sure that you can contact the local authorities for help. 
  • Don't take any action that can make the suspect even more aggressive.
