MacBook Pro M2 might be a newer laptop than its predecessor, but it does not mean that it's faster compared to the M1.

Are you thinking of buying the new MacBook Pro M2? The new test reveals that it's slower than the M1 laptop.

People think that the new things always have the most advanced specs when we are talking about tech. However, that's not always the case, especially regarding the Cupertino firm's M2-powered MacBook Pro.

In line with this, the said laptop shows slower SSD speeds than the M1 model. To further prove that the M2 MacBook Pro is less superior than its predecessor, MaxTech's Max Yuryev conducted a quick test of this product.

According to Tom's Guide, the performance test involves opening multiple tabs on the browser, as well as sending files to the external drive.

With these activities alone, Yuryev has proven that MacBook Pro M2 has some issues. The M1-equipped model is even faster than it.

Yuryev also confirmed that the read and write speeds of the said product when it comes to SSD are very slow. The MacBook Pro M1 is said to be utilizing a pair of 128GB processors, while the MacBook Pro M2 only relies on a 256GB NAND flash chip.

Although the newest Mac-based laptop has bigger storage, the predecessor is still the winner because it uses two chips that make up for its memory bandwidth.

Creating a Virtual SSD is a Must

For the MacBook Pro to be speedy in file transfer, there's a need to make a virtual SSD memory. This will pave the way for more RAM which is useful during multitasking activities.

With the benchmark test that took place recently, many users have realized that the MacBook Pro M2 laptop needs further improvement. By this, Apple fails to exceed the people's expectations when it comes to the next-gen laptop.

If you're thinking of getting this soon, you can purchase it at $1,299. Still, it's important to pay attention to the results of the test since it will dictate if you will opt for it or not.

As of writing, grabbing an M1 MacBook Pro is highly advisable if you're rushing things for your needs. If you're patient enough, waiting for the new MacBook Air 2022 will be worth your penny.

This laptop is expected to arrive next month. It's more affordable than the 13-inch M2 laptop, yet you won't regret buying it because of its design.

As per MacWorld's report, the process is quite difficult to pull off. It's a very complicated task outside switching out the logic boards of the laptops.

Luke Miani, a YouTube content creator, has tried removing the laptops' boards so he could swap the M1 and the M2 chips. However, when he activated the power button, no progress was made.

He even experimented with operating the Apple Configurator and replacing the Touch ID buttons. However, it did not work as well.
