Snap, the parent company of the famous social media platform Snapchat, is no longer offering its Pixy selfie drone to the world, with the flying camera discontinued from its development. The world first saw the one-of-a-kind selfie drone that will follow its owners wherever they go, always ready to take their portrait or capture the moment when needed.

The Wall Street Journal first reported that Snap is already discontinuing the development of one of its hardware for the public that will benefit from the use of its social media platform, Snapchat. The Pixy selfie drone is something that the company introduced earlier this April, a device the public may use for capturing self-portraits and other types of shots.
Evan Spiegel, Snap's chief executive, said that the company is focusing on different priorities and focus, with the selfie drone development being one of the devices facing cancelation during this time. According to the WSJ, Spiegel told this development to its staff during its Q&A meeting that broke the news to its employees.

No More Selfie Drone for Snapchat Users
According to Android Central, Snap did not release any comment regarding the drone's availability or cancelation news, keeping the matters private as of the moment. It means that future Snapchat users that aim to buy the Pixy from the company may no longer find it via its stores, and have it connected to their app for its operations.
Drones and their Offers for the World
Drones offer a massive addition to technology, focusing on providing an unmanned aerial vehicle that has multiple purposes and uses, especially for the modern needs of the public. It may appear as a form of equipment for videography and content production, while some use it for a different breed of remote-controlled races and experiences.
The current use for drones also offers a delivery service from different companies including Walmart, particularly via its partnership with DroneUp for the Northwest Arkansas regions.
Drone development in the world also saw a way for it to fly even amidst hurricanes, something that most aircraft find challenging to fly into, especially with its devastating winds.
Many regulations from different states and the concerned committees are limiting the use of drones as well, and it is one of the most significant challenges in its use for different purposes.
Nevertheless, selfie drones like Snap's Pixy may not fly as high as other drones or go farther compared to others, as they only offer a way to capture moments close to their owner. The decision for this may not yet be official from the company, but reports claim that Snap is already holding on to the cancellation of this venture for the public's future purchases.
