Microsoft is Stretching Its Design Lab Offerings to Include the Xbox Elite Controller

According to the story by Comic Book, Microsoft has just dropped the news that they will be giving access to a highly-requested feature for the controllers of both the Xbox One and the Xbox Series X.

Ever since the birth of Design Lab by Microsoft a few years ago, fans have been asking for the program to extend further into customizable versions of the popular controller, the Xbox Elite. Design Labs reportedly allowed users to design their own Xbox controller but fans might have not been contented with just the basics.

Company Announces Users Will be Able to Create a Customized Version of the Elite Wireless Controller Series 2

After a long period of fans asking Microsoft to do this, it seemed like the company would never take action until recently. Microsoft has officially announced that they will be giving fans what they have long been requesting.

The Xbox Design Lab will officially start the process of opening up its Elite controllers to customization starting the holiday season. Fans will finally be able to create their very own customized versions of the Elite Wireless Controller Series 2.

This opens the controller up to a wide range of color schemes that extend past just the black and white models that the company initially made available. Microsoft has teased a video of what the Elite controllers could look like in a post on Twitter.

 

Xbox Design Lab Launched in 2016 and Now Offers Customization for the Elite Wireless Controller Series 2

In a write-up on the official Xbox website, Microsoft reportedly revealed that fans have been asking them to include the Elite controllers ever since the debut of the Xbox Design Lab in 2016. Fans wanted to have the ability to further personalize the controller to have a "premium experience."

The company announced that it will finally be opening up this option come the holidays. Fans will finally be able to customize the Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 with the help of the Xbox Design Lab.

Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 Core and Complete Component Pack Prices

The company announced that they are excited to bring even more choices to "gamers around the world and can't wait to see how fans reimagine what it is to be Elite." So far, the known price of the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 CORE is $129.99 and the Complete Component Pack will be $59.99.

Players will be able to customize their controllers to better fit their preferred gaming style with different interchangeable thumbsticks, shapes, and D-pads. The package will reportedly include a carrying case, charging dock, and eve a USB-C cable.
