When it comes to reusable space rockets, there is only one company that comes to the public's minds. However, that may soon change with Spain's PLD Space which recently announced that it would soon test a launch for its reusable rocket, the Miura 1, later this year.

It is a significant achievement for the Spanish private space company, especially as reusable rockets are hard to manufacture, let alone develop, despite the shift to sustainability in space ventures now.

PLD Space announced earlier today that its Miura 1 will soon see an actual space flight later this year, and it will test the capabilities of the rocket for its future use. The company's Miura 1 is its first rocket and it is a reusable spacecraft that aims to break ground later this year, its first actual test launch with its goal to reach orbit.

This is one of the first space rockets from the EU which aims to deliver on a reusable launch vehicle from a private space company in the region, with the Spanish company already showing promising performance in their last tests.

It is unknown which contracts or missions the company will undertake soon, but a reusable rocket such as the Miura 1, would generate massive partnerships and interested parties.

Miura 1 Completes Full Mission Static Fire Tests

The company is now celebrating its 11 years of hard work which saw a new milestone achieved after its Full Mission Test saw completion in its recent venture. PLD Space fired up the rockets of the Miura 1 for its static fire test, and the 110-second mission saw the successful firing of the rocket's engines and subsystems without any problems encountered.

Reusable Space Rockets in the World

One of the most prominent companies which focus on reusable rockets for their many missions is Elon Musk's SpaceX, particularly with the currently available Falcon 9 which brought multiple missions already. For 2022 alone, it achieved a milestone for flying 14 consecutive times with its reusable launch vehicle, delivering payloads to the likes of NASA and the ISS, as well as its Starlink in orbit.

SpaceX is currently dominating the private space industry with its reusable rockets which already secured multiple missions and contracts with different companies, and it is undeniably one of the best in the league.

However, there are other companies in the world with reusable space rockets and it includes a take from China's Long March series, the Long March 8, known for delivering on its missions to space. Its reusable spacecraft only did two missions for its 2-year mission, but China claims it is a reusable vessel.

Rocket Lab's Neutron is also a known reusable spacecraft that now aims to secure a contract for US military payload going to orbit.

The world has a fair share of reusable space rockets, and PLD Space is aiming to break ground and present a new vessel to join those with multiple experiences in going to orbit and coming back for another mission.
