MOSES LAKE, WA - SEPTEMBER 27: Eviation's "Alice", the world's first all-electric commuter airplane, taxis towards its hangar at the conclusion of its first flight on September 27, 2022 in Moses Lake, Washington.

The Aircraft

The Sky Whale may be equipped with cutting-edge technologies, such as ceramic or fiber composites, alloys, carbon nanotubes, fiber optic cabling, hybrid electric engines, active wings, and more. It may also have the ability to generate electricity composed of tiny solar cells fixed in a hexagonal pattern on the ceiling of the aircraft.

Its active wings will be longer from tip to tip and will have an eccentric turbine inside the wing close to the fuselage. This will help direct laminar airflow and turbulences while it produces electric energy for its four electric-fuel hybrid engines.

When the engine's core is turned off, the engine could use energy to operate the turbofan, along with the gasoline, to power the engine's core. The AWWA's engines can swivel up to 45 degrees vertically, that will help it take-off and land. Therefore, the engines can help cut the track's distance to do these activities and serve as support.

It also has a fly-by-wire system and avionics to control everything, with the help of active sensors spread across the plane's surface. The wings are built apart from the fuselage for safety measures. In case of an emergency landing, the separation would cause the side of the passenger to sustain less damage.

A Flying Hotel

The Sky Whale has all the amenities of a hotel-from gym to a spa-along with the beautiful views guests can see from the rooftop windows. It also comes with other high-tech features.

There are three categories of passengers that will be accommodated onboard-tourist class, business class, and first class. Passengers in the top class category would be able to enjoy the rooftop windows.

The Demand for Larger Aircraft Today

Airlines are faced with an increasing demand for larger aircraft, as passenger traffic is projected to increase. The Sky Whale can be a solution to the growing demand for larger and more fuel-efficient aircraft.

Airlines are competing with each other to come up with bigger aircraft that can accommodate more passengers and for longer flights. The introduction of the Sky Whale will be a huge game-changer and will revolutionize transportation. The aircraft also has great potential as a new technology-driven product and can be a benchmark of modern aircraft.

Even though the Sky Whale is still conceptual, it is possible to create it with the help of the increased demand of larger aircrafts. Despite the challenges, such as the still untapped technology, the Sky Whale will be a reality.
