Rolls-Royce is now in the midst of its switch to electric vehicles (EV) as it unveiled its high-end Spectre Coupe. It is the company's most powerful automobile to date and a successor to the Phantom Coupe, Electrek reported.

Spectre Coupe's Performance

As of right now, the British automaker has not finalized any details. However, it claimed that the enormous premium EV's 577 hp and 664 lb-ft of torque would be sufficient to propel the coupe from 0-60 mph in 4.4 seconds. Even while these numbers are not very impressive, consumers will most likely buy it due to its comfort rather than its top-level performance while on the road, according to Engadget.

The Spectre's inbuilt battery makes it around 30% stiffer than any previous Rolls-Royce. The firm has not disclosed the battery's specifications yet, but it has said that it hopes to achieve a range of up to 260 miles, as predicted by the EPA. Reportedly, it will also share a chassis with the famous Phantom.

Interior Design and Functions

The inside is unmistakably a Rolls-Royce thanks to details like the exquisite bespoke leather upholstery, the LED dashboard that adjusts when the doors are opened, and the distinctive Rolls-Royce canopy of stars, which was introduced in 2007.

The design has the now-standard displays for instruments and entertainment, as well as a digital fascia for the passenger. In line with Rolls-Royce's unique design ethos, owners may choose a different hue for the digital gauges.

An in-car assistant named "Eleanor" can manage errands, and its companion app called "Whispers" can identify great places like restaurants and let the ignition, windows, and other features operate from afar.

Appearance and Dimension

Engadget said it is not just a revised version of one of the company's previously released designs. The Spectre utilizes a new aluminum platform called the "Architecture of Luxury" that has been optimized specifically for electric vehicles. It has "starlight" doors that have 4,796 points of light.

Its dimensions are massive for a coupe, which measures 16ft in length and 6.6ft in width. It also has the first 23-inch wheels produced by the auto manufacturer in over a century. This is not for frantic driving along winding rural roads; rather, it is for social gatherings and outings to the country club.

Purchasing Rolls-Royce's EV

Orders for the Spectre may be placed at this time, and first deliveries are anticipated to begin around the fourth quarter of 2023.

The price begins at $413,500 in the United States, though it does not include the customizing procedure. Interested customers must expect to pay a significant amount extra to have the design exactly as they want it, down to the colors of the iconic in-door umbrella.

According to Engadget, this is geared squarely at buyers who are willing to pay as much as necessary for their dream vehicle, more so than competing ultra-luxury EVs like the Cadillac Celestiq and the forthcoming Mercedes-Maybach EQS.
