Signify (formerly Philips Lighting) is launching a new set of string lights ideal for families who want to make their holiday home decorations more personalized and vibrant.

Philips Hue Festavia String Lights

Fairy lights and string lights are more often thought of as decorative items than as lighting applications.

There is a trend on the internet to take photos using fairy lights, particularly among some Pinterest and Tumblr users. Some people also complement their gaming setups with fairy lights.

According to Signify, the new Philips Hue Festavia string lights provide a personalized lighting experience during the holiday season. The manufacturer claims that the string lights can make homes feel cozy.

The Philips Hue Festavia string lights include 250 mini smart LEDs and a 20-meter cord. This length allows homeowners to cover a large area inside the house, not just Christmas trees and chimneys. These string lights provide homeowners with a broad range of decorating options. It can be placed on the staircase, around the living room, or in your entertainment area.

The days of squeezing yourself under the Christmas tree to switch the lights on and off are long gone. Not only are these string lights from Signify flexible in terms of design, but they also have smart controls.

The Hue app, which can be easily downloaded, allows users to control lighting in a variety of ways, including brightness and dimming, color changing, turning lights on and off, setting timers and schedules, and more.

Groundbreaking Personalization

Signify also redefines personalization with the Philips Hue Festavia string lights. Users can select multiple color points to generate a gradient light effect along the string.

This means that users have complete control over the colors they want to use with the string lights, as well as the ability to bring these colors to life.

The Festavia string lights can also be paired with other Philips Hue LED lighting in the area, as with all Hue products. Now here's something more fascinating: the lights can also be integrated with other apps and smart features.

Using Spotify and Samsung SmartThings integration, users can also sync the lights with music so that they flash, dim, and brighten to the same beat as their favorite Christmas jam.

Sparkle Effect and Scattered Style

The Festavia string lights and new features in the Hue app are available. Each light on the string can look as if it's twinkling thanks to the new Sparkle effect, adding to the festive appearance.

Users can also select the Candle or Fireplace effect for a cozier ambiance. Festavia adds a new style for users to choose from as well: Scattered.

The Scattered style generates up to five colors randomly along the string for a vibrant, festive experience. Meanwhile, the Linear style creates a seamless gradient of color from one end of the string to the other.

According to Engadget, the lights will set you back $160 when they arrive on Nov. 15. By a significant margin, this is considerably more costly than the vast bulk of string lights on the market. But these might be the lights for you if you are looking for high-tech lights that are also very festive and customizable.
