Elon Musk's lawyer has recently sent an email to Twitter's staff, and it explains that they will not be individually liable to the Federal Trade Commission should the company's troubles take a turn for the worse. Previously, there were talks regarding an alarm at the FTC to Elon Musk-led Twitter, especially with the way it runs things and the many changes internally.

The email addressed that Musk and Twitter, as a company, will have to face the FTC charges, not letting an employee or individual take the fall for its current practices, should there be a problem.

According to TechCrunch's report, an internal email it obtained saw a statement from Musk's lawyer, Alex Spiro, who addressed its remaining staff and employees regarding a future problem with the FTC. According to Spiro, "the only party to that decree is Twitter-not individuals who work at Twitter," which assures the staff regarding impending cases against them.

In this email, Spiro said that Twitter will be held liable regarding any violations or decrees with the FTC, meaning that it would take the fall.

The lawyer assured the staff regarding this matter, saying that individuals would not have to worry about the threats looming over the company in the present.

Twitter and the FTC Troubles in the Present

However, as per The Verge's report about a Twitter Slack message within its privacy team, "personal, professional and legal risk" is what employees face in their work with the company. It is in contradiction to what Spiro said in the email about Twitter taking the fall.

Nevertheless, Twitter is skating on thin ice in the present, especially with its FTC troubles regarding its operations and what it enforces in its platform.

Elon Musk and Twitter

The new era of Twitter already began when Elon Musk took over last October 27, and it centered on new management and goals that will put the short word social media on giving power to the people. The company centers on a new $8 monthly subscription for a part of its Twitter Blue services, as well as the famed blue checkmark verification for its users.

Many did not approve of Musk's leadership style and plans for the company, as some left the company voluntarily, while some saw them losing their jobs at Twitter

Nevertheless, Musk's "power to the people" centers on free speech, something which would change what Twitter was before the top billionaire's takeover. But these many changes affected the company in more ways than one would think of, especially with how it handles or centers on its operations, now getting flagged by the FTC.

And while there has been no formal complaint or case from the regulatory agency, there is a threat that puts Musk and Twitter in trouble for its current operations. However, its current staff and employees were given assurance that no one will take the fall for this individually, as the company would face these future charges, should it come.
