Techies and camping enthusiasts may get the best of both worlds through this newest accessory for the Tesla Cybertruck.

Even though the Tesla Cybertruck is not yet in production, several businesses have been working to create accessories for it, particularly in the camping industry. Many believe it will be an interesting electric car to convert into a camper due to its specifications and utility.

Thus, California startup Space Campers aims to prove through their new product that if the correct accessories are added, the Tesla Cybertruck's square bed can be innovated to become comfortable enough for those long drives through the woods or down deserted backroads.

Space Camper Develops Camp Accessories for Tesla Cybertruck

PR Newswire reports that Space Camper has been working on a variety of features and capabilities for their new bed-embedded camper, which will reportedly cost $24,000.

According to Electrek, the newest addition to the accessory lineup is a back rack that attaches to the trailer hitch of the Cybertruck and can be used as storage space for equipment when closed or as an outdoor kitchen with space for a drop-in sink and cooking surfaces when opened.

Additionally, they have fitted out their full-camp kitchen, bathroom, shower, and rack accessories with outstanding attention to detail, making the most of the available space in the Cybertruck.

Based on Space Camper's latest explainer video, here are the key features of the camper:

  • Seamless installation with no modifications to the Cybertruck required and easy offload.
  • Full access to the truck bed when open and closed.
  • Air-powered actuators that open or break down the camper with the flip of a switch.
  • Keyless entry by integrating with the Cybertruck's tailgate locking mechanism.
  • A Murphy-style bed that sleeps two and flips up for 8 feet of standing room.
  • Compatibility with the Cybertruck's battery for accessory add-ons and DIY builds.

Latest Tesla Cybertruck Production Update

Since its first announcement back in 2019, the Tesla Cybertruck has been a long-awaited vehicle with its futuristic appearance and cutting edges, according to CNBC. This year, Tesla CEO Elon Musk stated that the electric vehicle company plans for production to begin in the middle of 2023.

"Cybertruck is built with an exterior shell made for ultimate durability and passenger protection. Starting with a nearly impenetrable exoskeleton, every component is designed for superior strength and endurance, from Ultra-Hard 30X Cold-Rolled stainless-steel structural skin to Tesla armor glass." According to Tesla's official site.

On the most recent update on its production, The Driven reported the arrival of actual production machinery specialized to the Cybertruck at the Gigafactory Texas. This latest update proves that Tesla will be sticking to a mid-2023 timeframe in its communications over the past few months.

With a single motor and rear-wheel drive, the entry-level Cybertruck should have a range of 250 miles on a single charge. The range for the $49,900 dual-motor all-wheel-drive variant is expected to be 300 miles. A trimotor with all-wheel drive and a 500-mile range will cost $69,900.
