RPCS3, a known emulator for PS3 games has finally hit a milestone this Christmas Day.

According to the team behind the system, there are no PS3 games left that run on the emulator which shows a black screen on the display.

In short, you can play every PlayStation 3 game on it, but the performance would still depend on the game.

RPCS3, a popular PlayStation 3 emulator has no PS3 games left that boot to a black screen.

According to a new report by DSO Gaming on Monday, Dec. 26, the RPCS3 team officially posted on Twitter that the console emulator has achieved zero-game loadable compatibility during the special event.

"This means there are no PS3 games left that boot to a black screen on the emulator - every PS3 game at the very least boots and shows image output," the team tweeted on holidays.

With this, the RPCS3 maker uploaded an image of the current progress for the PS3 games. Check the following details below to see what's new with the emulator.

  • Playable (67.8%): Games that can be completed with playable performance and no game breaking glitches.
  • Ingame (28.59%): Games that either can't be finished, have serious glitches or have insufficient performance.
  • Intro (3.42%): Games that display images but don't make it past the menus.
  • Loadable (0%): Games that display a black screen with a framerate on the window's title.
  • Nothing (0%): Games that don't initialize properly, not loading at all and/or crashing the emulator.

What's Next For the RPCS3 Team?

Since all games are already playable on the PlayStation 3 emulator, the team might move forward to another step in software development.

Most probably, the team is expected to fix glitches, bugs, and other in-game issues for the PS3 games. To make it more interesting, RPCS3 users can soon play 30 fps games at 60fps once the new patch arrives. When this happens, the PC gamers can have a better gaming experience compared to those people who have the original PlayStation 3 console.

The RPCS3 emulator is available on Windows, Linux, maCOS, and even on FreeBSD. For more information on how to download it, check this link to see what it could offer to you.
