T-Mobile is Still the Fastest 5G Provider in the US, As Per Ookla’s Q4 2022 Report

The battle for the top spot for the fastest 5G service in the United States goes yet again to T-Mobile, and this is from the latest report by Ookla for its fourth quarter evaluation of 2022. Not only that, it also clinches the spot as the top provider for 4G LTE, centering on the countrywide coverage of its mobile data internet for all its subscribers.

For another time again, it trumps the likes of Verizon and AT&T, its rivals in the telecommunications service which also deliver 5G services to all.

According to Ookla's Speedtest Global Index for 2022's fourth quarter, T-Mobile topped the upload, download, and consistency rates for its 5G and 4G LTE networks.

Its download speed is at 151.37 Mbps overall, and a whopping 216.56 5G Median speeds. On the other hand, Its overall upload speeds reached up to 12.53 Mbps.

T-Mobile's consistency rate is at 86.8 percent for delivering at least 5 Mbps downloads and 1 Mbps uploads.

However, T-Mobile placed last on the Multi-Server Latency test, where it only scored 56 ms, with Verizon at a close 58 ms, and AT&T topped the scores at 60 ms. This is the same case as the 5G Multi-Server Latency Test, with T-Mobile placing last, next to Verizon, and AT&T securing first place.

On most of the scores and rankings, T-Mobile topped the list, with Verizon trailing by second, and AT&T finishing third.

Ookla's Q4 2022 Report

According to Digital Trends, this Q4 2022 report from Ookla saw for the first time that the 200 Mbps threshold for 5G speeds across all bands was broken, and it is with T-Mobile's service. There is a massive gap in the numbers posted by Ookla among T-Mobile, Verizon, and AT&T, the trio of the top service providers in the country.

T-Mobile's 5G

One of the world's most famous telecommunication companies is T-Mobile, and it is one of the top providers in the United States alone, being Americans' choice for their cellular needs. Last year, T-Mobile secured as many as 7,000 licenses to expand its coverage in the country, with its capabilities to provide its services to 81 million people in the US.

In the spirit of expanding its coverage in the country, T-Mobile also went into a strategic partnership with SpaceX, particularly with its mid-band PCS spectrum that may connect to satellites. This will further enhance the reach of T-Mobile via SpaceX and Starlink's offers, one that ensures better reach to consumers who can also connect to the satellite internet.

Being one of the top companies in the country for cellular data and networks, T-Mobile offers more than mobile connections, but also 5G for homes, providing hassle-free installation and use. In this latest report from Ookla, T-Mobile has yet again achieved a significant feat for their service, being 2022's top internet provider for its 5G and 4G LTE connections.
