China's Hyperloop-like train test has been completed.

This means that the Asian country is the first one to demonstrate an ultra-fast train inside a vacuum tube.

The Hyperloop was originally the idea of Elon Musk.

Although there were concepts similar to the Hyperloop, such as Robert Goddard's "vactrain," it was the Tesla CEO who took the idea seriously.

But, it seems like China was able to overtake Elon Musk when it comes to testing the actual Hyperloop concept.

China's Hyperloop-Like Train Completes Test!

According to Futurism's latest report, China is the first country to test a magnetically levitated train inside a vacuum tube.

The test was conducted in the province of Shanxi in northern China. During the demonstration, the maglev train ran through a 1.25-mile vacuum track.

It reached a top speed of 80 mph (130 kph). The test was conducted by the North University of China and the Third Research Institute of China Aerospace Science and Industry Corp.

As of writing, they want to conduct more extreme tests in the future. They are even planning to construct a longer track, which could be around 37 miles.

Their next target speed is 621 mph. However, this will take a long time before it can be achieved.

Hyperloop Could Change How Humans Travel

Hyperloop concept is the idea of putting a train in vacuum tubes with no air.

ZDNet reported that the Hyperloop could revolutionize the way people travel if it becomes a reality.

The absence of air around the train will reduce friction, allowing it to travel as fast as the speed of sound.

Many experts concluded that a Hyperloop could reach around 750 miles per hour or more. When it comes to benefits, this train could offer faster and cheaper travel.

Aside from less cost and faster travel times, researchers also believe that Hyperloop trains could take the pressure off gridlocked roads.

If this is true, traveling between cities would be easier and more comfortable.

For years, many companies have been making drastic efforts to improve how people travel via trains.

Recently, the new Google Search feature that allows people to buy train tickets in select countries was confirmed.

We also reported that a French company is developing the world's first all-hydrogen train.
