"Fortnite" V-Bucks spending on iOS will no longer be available for iPhone users by the end of January, Epic Games announced.

So if you still have "Fortnite" installed on your iPhone, it might soon lose one of its most essential features.

'Fortnite' on iOS V-Bucks Spending To Be Blocked

As per a recent report by 9to5 Mac, Apple kicked out the hit battle royale game, "Fortnite," from the App Store back in 2020. The iPhone maker says that Epic Games violated the guidelines of its app marketplace after selling in-app items outside of its systems.

Since then, the conflict between the developer of the game, Epic Games, and Apple has been taken to court. And until now, "Fortnite," remains to be banned for iPhone users.

However, iOS users who had the phenomenal battle royale title installed on their iPhones before it left the App Store could still keep playing the game.

And through the years, no issues were doing so. Yet, this time, it looks like they are about to encounter a problem.

Epic Games announced that Fortnite players still using the outdated versions of the battle royale game can no longer spend V-Bucks before January ends.

Fortnite Status tweeted that "Fortnite players using the August 2020 13.40 app build" will be unable to spend V-Bucks by January 30.

Without an option to spend V-Bucks, playing the game would be a bit more complicated. 9to5 Mac notes that the in-game allows users to get their hands on new items, mainly character cosmetics.

For "Fortnite," these in-game items house the latest collaborations on the battle royale game. So players with outdated versions will be missing out on these new releases.

Outdated 'Fortnite' Apps

The now outdated version used to be available on various platforms, such as iPhone, iPad, Mac, and even Android.

So if you are still using the 13.40 app build of the game on your Android device, you are also affected by the change. But thankfully, Android folks could easily install a newer version.

On the other hand, iPhone and iPad users could not easily update the app as it is no longer available on the App Store. Since Apple kicked out the game, the updates also stopped coming.

But there is still a walkaround for that.

How to Update 'Fortnite' on iPhones?

The Gamer notes in its report that iPhone users could still play the updated version of the hit battle royale title.

To do so, they would have to play the browser version of "Fortnite" on their iOS mobile devices via GeForce Now.
