Qualcomm, the chipset maker behind some of the most popular mobile devices today, has unveiled two new modems - the Snapdragon X72 and Snapdragon X75 - that are paving the way for Wi-Fi 7 technology.

Qualcomm's Revolutionary Modems: Snapdragon X72 and X75

According to the story by Giz China, Qualcomm announced a revolutionary new modem in the form of the Snapdragon X72 and Snapdragon X75. The X72 is a modem designed specifically for mobile and smartphone devices, while the X75 works with vehicles, PCs, and the Industrial Internet of Things.

Both modems are ready to support 5G Advanced and the new and upcoming Wi-Fi 7 standard. The modems are capable of 10-carrier aggregation and can reach speeds of up to 10 Gbps with both the Wi-Fi 7 and 5G networks.

Reducing Cost, Hardware Footprint, and Battery Consumption with the Snapdragon X72 and X75 Modems

The Qualcomm 6th-generation modem-to-antenna solution featured with these modems uses a new architecture and a new QTM565 mmWave antenna module to reduce the cost and hardware footprint of the devices which use it. As well as performance, these modems also focus on power consumption.

Qualcomm has included a 5G PowerSave Gen 4 and RF Power Efficiency Suite to reduce battery consumption and maintain stability. The Snapdragon X72 and Snapdragon X75 modems will soon be seen in devices such as smartphones and vehicles later in the year.

Revolutionary Improvements in Speed and Connection Reliability with Qualcomm's X72 and X75 5G Modem-RF Systems

Qualcomm Technologies Inc. has announced the launch of the Snapdragon X72 and Snapdragon X75 5G Modem-RF systems, which will bring revolutionary improvements in speed and connection reliability to the 5G mobile world.

The company announced that the X72 and X75 modems would be the world's first with 10-carrier aggregation, in addition to an advanced AI-assisted mmWave beam management for more reliable connections. On top of this, the modems will also be compatible with the upcoming Wi-Fi 7 standard, taking mobile connectivity to a whole new level.

Next-Generation Flagship Phones to Feature X72 and X75 Modems

This will bring unprecedented smooth streaming, ultra-responsive gaming, and lightning-speed downloads. In addition, the X72 and X75 modems are set to be ready when 5G Advanced arrives, as also noted in an article by GSM Arena

By the end of 2023, the company expects consumers to start seeing phones with these modems built in, including the next-generation flagship phones like Samsung's potential Galaxy S24.
