Samsung Galaxy S23 FE is likely to bring back Exynos chips to the United States, as well as the rest of the world, a new leak suggests.

When Samsung debuted the Galaxy S23 series, it made a surprising move. It is its first-ever flagship phone lineup to ditch its in-house Exynos chips, as per a report by 9to5 Google. Instead, a Qualcomm chipset, precisely a special version of Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, powered these devices globally.

Despite that, it seems that Samsung is planning to pursue a different path for the Fan Edition (FE) of the Galaxy S23 series. So while the flagship series are ditching Exynos chips, it looks like cheaper options are entirely sticking with it.

Samsung Galaxy S23 FE Might Use Exynos Chips

9to5 Google notes in its report that Samsung previously had a tradition to offer its flagship devices to countries in Europe with Exynos chips. On the other hand, in the United States (US) and Asian nations, its mobile devices come with Qualcomm Snapdragon.

So although the giant phone maker has been powering its flagship devices with Exynos chips, it usually skips a global release. Instead, some folks are getting their hands on Qualcomm versions.

However, this time, it looks like Samsung is gearing up to release the Galaxy S23 FE globally with an Exynos chipset.

As per Notebook Check, the Galaxy S23 FE, which might release sometime this year, is likely to feature an Exynos 2200. The same chipset is familiar to some Galaxy S22 users, as the device carried it in some regions.

However, it seems that the Korean phone maker is working to make it more powerful than ever. Rumors say that it might sport an "improved 4 nm process.

With that, the Galaxy S23 FE could potentially outpower the older Galaxy S22 despite sporting the same Exynos chipset.

Why Use Exynos Chips?

The latest leak on the Galaxy S23 FE suggests that Samsung is only going all-in with Qualcomm for its flagship series. Meanwhile, the more affordable Fan Edition is likely focusing on its in-house Exynos chip.

The tech giant is likely going for its Exynos chips to reduce the cost of producing the device. After all, Samsung makes these mobile processors themselves.

Galaxy S23 FE: What to Expect

Android Authority reports that the Galaxy S23 FE is most likely to replace the higher-end A series device of Samsung. Essentially a successor to the Galaxy S73.

The upcoming Fan Edition phone is expected to sport a 6.7-inch AMOLED display, an impressive rear triple-camera system, and 5G connectivity support.

However, Samsung has yet to confirm these specs, including the entire existence of the Galaxy S23 FE.

While the Galaxy S23 FE has yet to see the light of day, chatter has it that the Samsung Galaxy S24 is likely to be faster than the Apple iPhone 15.
