As AI jobs continue to rise, tech layoffs among companies become more common. 

The popularity of artificial intelligence in honing employees' skills has been sensational among recruiters and employers. Some firms want to invest in this technology to attract more potential workers who wish to join the company.

In Stanford University's Institute for Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence study, roughly 800,000 job openings have been related to AI in the US alone since 2022.

Stanford University Institute has revealed the places where AI jobs exist.

According to Stanford's 2023 AI Index Report, the place with the most opportunities related to AI is California. The data suggests that over 142,000 positions were posted online last year.

Given that California is a prosperous state in the US, it's understandable why several major companies are building their headquarters here. Some tech firms include Meta, Google, and OpenAI, the creator behind ChatGPT.

Behind California are Florida, New York, and Texas, which also have a lot of AI job hiring.

It should be noted that, on average, AI-related job openings account for 1.5%. In smaller states such as Arkansas and Delaware, the job postings linked to artificial intelligence have reached 2.66% and 2.03%, respectively. Despite that these are low percentages, they still exceed the national average.

Meanwhile, Washington D.C., the capital of the United States, recorded nearly 3% of AI job postings.

Private Industry Research Overshadows Academic Research in AI Study

According to CNBC, AI research from private firms continues to dominate the industry over studies from academies.

The collaborative research is still effective, with the United States and China going strong in their exploration. 

The report says the bond between the two superpower nations regarding this undertaking has skyrocketed since 2010. However, the relationship slowed down in 2021.

How to Prepare for an AI Job Interview

If your future employer is about to use AI to evaluate your interview, you can have a brief preparation ahead of schedule.

There are still traditional employers who interview applicants with a simple question-and-answer test. Some make use of AI to evaluate if the candidate is capable of doing a task.

AI screening can be daunting, but you can ace it by following some tricks shared by The Washington Post.

  1. Check your setup, including WiFi connection, video recording, webcam quality, and more.
  2. Focus on dressing appropriately during virtual interviews.
  3. Research the company and your job ahead of the interview.
  4. Rehearse some of the questions that the AI might ask you.
  5. Practice talking to a camera, even if it's awkward at first.
  6. Record your practice interview to know the areas you need to improve.

In other news, Tech Times shared a list of AI-proof jobs. The paper, written by OpenAI, suggests that 34 occupations have no exposure to the impact of language learning models. Some of them include cement masons, truck mechanics, athletes, and automotive glass installers, to name a few.
